Melanie Simon and husband, Denny
We are Denny and Melanie Simon, we've been married since December 1988 and are passionate people who love to serve others whenever we can. We've been told over the years we have the gift of hospitality and the environment that proves to bless people when visiting. We have been blessed to live on this 92 acre property and share many memories of gatherings and now future guests in our newly renovated 100- year old granary crafted and designed into a luxury cabin! So, we decided to put a long dream and passion of ours and made it a reality creating Living Waters~Weddings, Retreats & Cabin Getaways. We love to meet people from all over the world, enjoy the differing cultures and uniqueness of people from all walks of life and make new friends. We simply enjoy making guests feel welcomed and love to serve them ensuring their time here is memorable.
A Rich History
The Story of The Barn at Living Waters
Once known as Simon’s Spring Valley Fish Farm, a Wisconsin farm is seeing new life as a beautiful wedding and event venue. The Barn at Living Waters is located on a gorgeous 92 acre farm in Hixton, Wisconsin.
Rustic elegance abounds in the wooden peg barn complete with chandeliers and candelbras. The current space is just a hint of the rich history of its recent past. Used in the past for weddings for family members and friends, gatherings for special speakers traveling through or hosting “church-like” services, the heart of Melanie was to create a beautiful venue for meaningful events such as a wedding, retreat or celebration of life service.
The Barn at Living Waters is gaining new life as a premiere wedding and event venue. Melanie tries to contain her emotion as she describes what it’s like to see couples begin their lives together on a property that has long been so special to her. “It makes my heart sing,” she says.. Denny & Melanie completely oversaw the redesign of the barn, with Melanie adding the elegant touch that exists today. Now she looks forward to working closely with each bride to help achieve the wedding of her dreams.
The Barn at Living Waters offers multiples sites from which to choose for your special occasion. In addition to the enclosed barn there are two sites overlooking rolling hills or overlooking the spring-fed pond. For more of an open air feel plan your wedding or event outdoors in the pasture. Wherever you choose, you and your guests will be enamored with the tranquil surroundings and panoramic views of The Barn at Living Waters.
